The SCHFH Tool Library is coming!
This fall the Steuben County Habitat for HUmanity will be opening Corning’s first Tool LiBRary
The Steuben County Habitat for Humanity Tool Library will begin offering Habitat homeowners and all Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler County residents the opportunity to check out a wide range of garden, construction, and home repair tools for a small annual membership fee. This service allows you to borrow tools only when you need them, helping you save on purchase, maintenance, and storage costs.
You’ll be able to browse available tools through an online portal (see image below), where you can reserve tools or join waiting lists for future availability. Stay tuned for updates on the official launch of this exciting new service!
Donate Your New or Lightly Used Tools to the Tool Library
The Tool Library thrives on a mix of purchased and donated tools, and with your help, it can continue to grow. If you have new or gently used garden, construction, or home improvement tools you’d like to donate—or if you’d prefer to make a financial contribution—please contact sctoollibrary@habitatcorning.org to discuss your tax-deductible donation.
As a Tool Library member, you’ll still be able to reserve and access the tools you’ve donated while enjoying the benefit of not having to store them yourself. Plus, you’ll be contributing to a resource that benefits the entire community!
Funding/SUpport
The SCHfH Tool Library was started with grant support from the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and donations from members of the community.
